As a product Manager for WATU SIMU UG, the role is to Create guidelines, goals, checkpoints, and objectives for the employees to improve productivity while also providing support and motivation. To manage people and processes, recognize employee needs, incorporate clear guidelines and set timelines, participate in and represent the Uganda market in the monthly and quarterly sprint planning sessions. Take responsibility for weekly product updates to senior stakeholders and relevant cross-functional teams to ensure product metrics align with business growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Compile forecasting plan, Tracking and influencing Project progress, and creating visibility through weekly/Bi Weekly reports and liaising with key stakeholders for product input.
• Analyze and understand the project scope and core objectives linked to the product roadmap.
• Communicate and coordinate all responsible parties internally and externally (clients, 3rd party, aggregators) for all activities and expected timelines.
• Identify risks that may deter Business continuity, implement changes and ensure project completion before the deadline and within budget constraints.
• Working closely with Management/stakeholders for product positioning and deployment strategy.
• Convert stakeholder needs into detailed product requirements/specifications.
• Successfully support cross-functional teams, including sales, IT, Marketing, customer service to deliver solutions that grow company position, revenue and enhance customer experience.
• The Back Office Team set up Management to ensure a great customer experience.
• Team Handling and Management.
• Ensure the Back Office Team meets the set KPIs.
• Team Coaching and Mentoring.
• Delegate tasks as necessary.
• Effective communication on any product changes/company changes.
• Hiring of new employee’s visa vie the sales strategy.
• Set and communicate clear team goals and Monitor the team members.
• Conduct Performance reviews and ensure to create a positive work culture.

• Product Marketing
o Embed across core business functions in the country represented to execute product GTM strategy, advocate for local business process updates and support ongoing product marketing initiatives
o Identify and recruit country-level stakeholders who can aid product success
o Adapt group-level product marketing playbooks to the local context
o Define and update local buyer personas and the Ideal customer profiles for the products we build
o Oversee the creation of locally relevant content about the products we build in collaboration with Brand and other relevant cross-functional teams.
• Product Ownership
o Act as a local product owner, identifying local market requirements and translating them to user stories and a prioritized backlog of feature requests.
o Own and guide the localization of UX development, including language translations etc.
• Product Growth
o Connect product goals and KPIs with local market business success metrics
o Improve ROI by monitoring growth metrics and looking for innovative ways to leverage our products to drive business value (cost reduction, customer retention, growth, and higher lifetime value)
• Product Partnerships
o Act as the local strategic product partner manager for key external parties including applicable policy regulators, mobile operators and mobile wallets, co-marketing partners, and broader fintech ecosystem engagements.

Key Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience of over 5+ years in similar role with experience in Asset Financing, Product Partnership, Marketing, Stake holder engagement and management, Clients Relationship and management, strategic marketing with a special focus on business management and growth.
• Proficiency with Computer use and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Databases, Ms. Google suites etc.)
• Strong understanding of digital marketing channels & tools and copywriting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
