About the Role
Earthenable is seeking an enthusiastic HR Intern to join our team and provide invaluable support to our HR department. Your role will involve performing a variety of administrative tasks, including updating employee records, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience in HR operations and gain insight into our company’s approach to, recruiting, and employee development. As an HR Intern, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our HR policies and procedures. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be utilized in maintaining accurate employee records and assisting with various HR-related activities. Additionally, you will have the chance to contribute to the coordination of company events and gain exposure to different facets of HR management. Specific responsibilities of the role will include:
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
• Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives
• Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
• Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
• Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes
• Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
• Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc)
• Communicate with public services when necessary
• Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
• Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews
• Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
• Assist our recruiters to source candidates and update our database
• And any other duties assigned from time to time
Qualifications
• College graduate with a strong academic record in Human Resource
• 1-2 years of work experience with at least 1 year working with
• Good at Computer skills like typing.
• Strong computer skills and demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs quickly
• Effective at collaboration and instructing employees in how to use Payspace (Preferred)
• Commitment to impact and a strong interest in community development
• Ability to work extremely independently
• Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Docs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• willingness to learn new things
• Commitment to excellence, outstanding work ethic, and attention to detail
• Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving
