We are seeking to recruit for the position of Head- Transactional Banking & Specialised Finance in the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Domain to support our expansion strategy.
REPORTING TO: Chief Corporate and Institutional Banking Officer
JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Chief Corporate and Institutional Banking Officer, the role holder will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to dfcu’ s Transactional Banking & Specialized Products portfolio. The Head-Transactional Banking actively participates in the development of the Corporate & Institutional Banking Division’s business plan and strategy, and then develops a Transactional Banking Strategy that will facilitate the delivery of agreed targets; aiming to achieve maximum cross sell to the various relationships managed by the Relationship Managers. This includes development of both long- and short-term sales, products, and channel plans, focusing on customers, competition, profitability, product life cycle and service considerations; in addition to organizing sales programs for growth and product penetration. The Head- Transactional Banking will liaise with the Marketing & Business Solutions team to evaluate potential revenue opportunities in new and diverse markets and with the Technology & Operations team to develop new or improved digital solutions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Scale the Transactional Banking Business: Win in primary sectors through differentiated ecosystem offering.
• Drive up digital platform utilization amongst Transactional Banking customers; working collaboratively with colleagues in the Technology & Operations Domain to innovate and to resolve any issues.
• Lead the development & implementation of competitive Marketing Plans and Sales Strategies to grow dfcu’ s Transactional Banking Business and drive-up revenues.
• Actively update and monitor the deal pipeline for growth and enable the business to measure impact and value derived from the revenue centre.
• Ensure that customers are experiencing the promised value propositions and that mechanisms are in place for collecting & utilizing both positive & corrective feedback.
• Empower Relationship Managers to cross-sell Trade and Cash Management products and other Transactional Banking products, providing timely advisory services, sales proposals, and conducting joint client visits as appropriate.
• Ensure the development of a strong culture of risk and compliance management; take responsibility for the implementation of risk-management controls and for statutory compliance within the Distribution department.
• Actively contribute towards the development and implementation of an innovation and digital-transformation strategy that measurably enhances the Transactional Banking business’s competitive position; ensure improvement projects cost-effectively achieve their desired impacts.
• Ensure that the Department’s staff are effectively trained and well-equipped to consistently deliver satisfactory experiences to customers.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Economics.
• An MBA, related Masters or professional Banking qualification will be of an added advantage.
• Experience in a digital solutions environment for at least 8 years with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
• 4 years’ experience in a leadership role leading teams in a related field.
• Experience in management of agents.
• Relevant business exposure, experience, and acumen.
• Understanding of various product solutions, segments, and value propositions within the bank’s customer base; ability to craft new products or programs to enhance customer uptake.
• Demonstrated experience in the structuring of complex financial deals; with associated ability to negotiate and close sales.
• A deep understanding of risk management in a financial services organization.
• Demonstrated ability to establish credible and sustainable relationships with a broad range of stakeholders (including customers and partners).
• Computer knowledge especially spreadsheet, word &PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
