Job Overview
JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Head, Retail Products, the role holder will be responsible for product lifecycle management, innovation and customer experience across lending products and customer value propositions and value management. The role holder will be charged with identifying unmet customer needs and commercialization opportunities, executing approved and prioritized roadmaps by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to create, design and deliver high-impact innovative lending products from idea to market. The role is accountable for collaborating with client-facing teams and marketing to drive usage of lending products, increasing monthly active users, average revenue per customer through data-driven analytics, and growing both the balance sheet and net income.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Product Management
• Define compelling retail lending value propositions by understanding the target customer’s needs, pains, and desired gains.
• Own and execute the product development lifecycle for traditional and digital lending products from scouting opportunities, and product definition to roll-out.
• Lead commercialization initiatives for lending solutions working with cross-functional teams to achieve an increase in product uptake, and drive growth to meet utilization targets and ROI.
• Track product performance, and leverage on data and customer insights to identify product growth opportunities.
• Work on both architectural and functional issues with cross-functional teams to achieve integration and clean business flows for projects of varying nature.
• Continually identify and implement product improvements by leveraging channel, customer, and competitive insights.
Financial
• Drive product pricing, profitability, and revenue management for assigned product lines to achieve financial objectives.
• Drive end-to-end bank-level campaigns and programs to achieve product penetration targets.
• Plan and coordinate with Retail banking to deliver business results including handling of product queries.
• Analyze and prepare business performance/ market trend/ competitive landscape reports for lending products.
• Prepare and present progress dashboards and product performance reports as per agreed timelines.
• Develop and roll out marketing plans and sales initiatives to drive lending product penetration targets informed by market research, competitive analysis, pricing, customer engagement, and business planning.
• Identify opportunities and initiatives in retail lending products, processes, and services to optimize overall net product income by increasing revenues, lowering costs and improving efficiency.
Risk and Compliance
• Develop effective and efficient processes that ensure seamless and consistent delivery of lending.
• Continuously monitor, identify, and mitigate traditional and digital lending products-related risks, in conjunction with enabling units including business technology, digital transformation, credit, operations, risk, compliance, international controls and audit.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Good knowledge of key product marketing principles.
• Product and financial training.
• 6-8 years experience in banking with at least 3 years experience in lending product management.
• Knowledge of product management principles and processes and a good understanding of emerging technology and big data platforms.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to drive business output.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Advanced forecasting, pricing and business modelling.
• Good computer knowledge especially spreadsheets and databases, word and PowerPoint.
• Good interpersonal skills to work with other teams for implementation of activities.
• Business and Industrial awareness.
• Team player and ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Solutions-oriented mindset.
