Job Summary
The Head of Credit Policy & Portfolio Management is part of retail credit risk management complement and will be responsible for overall management of credit policy and credit enablement/ support functions related to retail and SME Micro portfolios. This is a managerial role therefore, the role holder will be responsible for training, coaching and capacity building of other colleagues in the team and the wider risk, credit operations and collections teams and align them to the retail credit policies and standards. The role holder will work closely with business stakeholders in sales, products, credit operations, collections & recoveries, and IT to deliver the objectives of business related to retail/ consumer lending portfolio across retail credit life cycle in aggregate.

Outputs:
• In collaboration with the business counterparts, develop, implement, and maintain credit risk strategies to optimally manage the performance of the retail/ consumer credit portfolio.
• Review and Implementation of credit policy and processes while feeding into business and credit policy development.
• Responsibility for personal & team adherence to governance, compliance, and lending portfolio controls. Ensuring audit outcomes are satisfactory backed by conformance to policy and procedures including proactive management of agreed responsibilities for Data Integrity.
• Challenge pricing and profitability models to maximize value within retail portfolios.
• Design, implement and maintain generic strategies for appropriate remedial action on poorly performing accounts, schemes, or companies within retail/ consumer portfolio.
• Actively manage the performance of the Retail portfolio within agreed risk appetite
• Agree and be responsible for all change initiatives in the retail and SME products offers and portfolios and support them through up to CRMC (Credit Risk Management Committee) for consideration.

• Manage the Retail portfolio within agreed risk appetite.
• Formulate strategies that drives growth through credit enablement inputs while maintaining an acceptable level of risk to achieve desired outcome.
• Develop a strong Risk/COO/Consumer Business partnership while managing retail/ consumer portfolio.
Accountability: Leadership 20%
• Develop a highly motivated team of portfolio managers and credit analysts and maintain excellent relationships within own team and wider business to ensure achievement of business goals.
Education
• Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
