Job Overview


Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business in general and all departments in particular. The General Manager will ensure that business operations run efficiently, goals are met and company policies are followed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monthly Departmental and Business Performance Reporting to the Managing Director
• Full Operational Oversight: Cross Departmental Task Allocation and Management. Enforcing adherence to internal processes and procedures.
• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate and manage staff to achieve business goals.
• Perform Client Service / Relationship Management for Key Clients: attending meetings, conveying needs to team, pitching, conflict resolution et al.
• Strategic Planning: Analyze market trends, customer needs and competitive landscape to guide decision-making.
• Partner Relationship Management: Maintaining healthy relationships with suppliers, contract staff and other external stakeholders.
• Sourcing and on-boarding Key Vendors / Partners
• Oversee recruitment and training.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
• 3-5 Years Management Experience
• Cross Disciplinary Knowledge and Exposure / Experience: Digital Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Events.
• Strong decision-making capabilities based on data analysis and strategic planning.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reports and business metrics.
• Relationship management and customer service experience.
• Very strong written and spoken English, document writing skills, presentation skills, executive presence.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve operational goals.
• Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills.
• Aptitude for tech and collaborative / co-working digital tools such as Google Drive. i.e Very High Computer Literacy.
• Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and out of Kampala if required.
• Additional Preferred; MBA
• Experience with Creative Industry: Event Management, Creative Agency et al.
• Active Interest in the Hospitality Industry: Restaurants, Hotels, Events, Lifestyle.
