Introduction
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development and Kasese district Local Government seeks to engage the services of suitably qualified companies for the Construction and Renovation the Kasese GBV Shelter in Kasese District

Overview
UNDP Uganda is implementing the EU/UN Spotlight Initiative 2.0-Gender for Development joint programme (2023-2026) to eliminate and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), promote Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) for women and girls. The programme is implemented in 12 districts and one of the planned interventions is the establishment of a GBV shelter in Kasese District. The objective of the shelter is to provide safe public space for GBV survivors to access comprehensive services including legal aid, psychosocial support, and reintegration of survivors back into society.

In line with the above background, UNDP and Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development held consultations with Kasese district officials and as a result, the Local Government offered one of the district structures to be renovated and turned into a GBV shelter.
