Job Description
Reports to: Assistant Manager, IT Operations
Accountability (Responsibility)
• Maintaining IT networks and systems including LANs, WANs, VPNs, Switches, routers, and other physical hardware
• Installing and configuring both passive and active network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues
• Install and maintain Telecommunication equipment including PABXs, ISDNs, Fibre, and UTP infrastructure to ensure voice and data communication among business are maintained
• Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected
• Implement and maintain Network Access Control solutions across all offices of the company
• Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks
• Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users
• Develop, configure, and maintain network intrusion and detection capability and standards across all possible entry points
Knowledge and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related degree
• Professional certification, such as CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP
• Knowledge of network security detection and prevention control
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in installing, maintaining, and supporting IT networks
• Experience in working wide Area Networks spreading across multiple countries
• Experience with Network switches and routers
• Experience installing and supporting PABXs, Communication Radios, and other voice networks
• Ability to communicate and follow up with external vendors and service providers
• Diagnostics and root-cause analysis
• Team player with listening and understanding of user challenges
Key Performance Indicators
• Corporate Network availability and reliability in compliance with set targets
• Network data transmission latency within agreed corporate standards
• Network uptime within targeted SLA and OLAs
• Mean-Time-Before-failure of IT Networks
• Working long hours and unplanned odd hours
• Liaison with IT Vendors and Service Providers
• Need to be technologically updated with emerging trends
• Understanding user needs so that these are transformed into business application
