PROJECT BACKGROUND:
The USAID Feed the Future Uganda Water and Food Systems (WFS) Activity is a five-year activity (2023-2028) implemented by the Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI Global ELC) as a lead partner with funding from USAID Feed the Future in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Stantec, Market Share Associates, and the International Water Management Institute. The Activity aims to inclusively and equitably improve food and water security in the Kyoga Basin in northeastern Uganda, specifically three watersheds – Lokok, Awoja, and Lokere, by empowering individuals and communities to mitigate and adapt to shocks and stressors in order to improve livelihoods, maintain nutrition and health wellbeing, address drivers of conflict, and reduce reliance on humanitarian assistance.
The activity aims therefore to achieve results under the following development objectives: 1. Improve water supply and integrated water resource management.
2. Increase equitable access to sanitation and hygiene services for households and schools.
3. Improved agriculture-based livelihoods.
4. Increased consumption of nutritious foods among women and children.
5. Expanded access to financial resources for women, men, youth, indigenous people, and marginalized groups.
6. Improve local capacity to manage shocks and stressors.
The Data Manager will support WFS – Activity performance information. He/she will be responsible for managing data, preforming data analytics, and visualization. This support will also include the creation and maintenance of databases, dashboards, and websites. The Data Manager will also assist project stakeholders in reporting and aggregating indicator
data and in using new online software to report performance results. The role reports to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Leaming (MEL) Director
Job Requirements:
• Degree in information technology; data analytics; development economics, statistics, business, or development administration; political science; economics or development studies.
• At least 9 years of experience in database management, knowledge management, and data visualization.
• Demonstrated knowledge of experience working with USAID funded projects and information systems with proven proficiency in statistical packages such as ArcGIS, STATA, SAS, SPSS, and Microsoft packages particularly Excel and Access.
• Ability to generate data tables, charts, graphs will be a key requirement.
• Excellent communication, writing, facilitation, and presentation skills and fluency in English is required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations and implementing partners/ grantees
