The Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) and Bethel | Candidate projects should:
Advisors have launched the second call for proposals n Uganda and invite applications from start-ups and existing businesses helping to tackle climate change.
The CFA and Bethel Advisors welcome applications from both start-ups and existing businesses looking to green their operations.
If your business would benefit from capacity building support and enhanced access to financiers take a look at the CFA Uganda programme. The CFA is funded by the UK Government to support climate projects to improve their bankability and appeal to investors. It currently operates in ten countries – Colombia, Egypt, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, South Africa, Türkiye, Uganda, and Viet Nam.
How CFA Uganda can support your project: The Climate Finance Accelerator offers a range of capacity building support to assist climate adaptation and mitigation projects in moving closer to finding investment. Project developers on the CFA programme benefit from:
• Coaching and best practice insights: 1-1 coaching with technical and financial experts, knowledge- sharing sessions on a range of topics including finance, fundraising, climate mitigation and carbon credits
• Access to investors: Opportunities to work directly with a range of potential investors, to understand their needs and develop your project accordingly. 3. Networking opportunities & increased visibility with key climate finance stakeholders.
• Expert support to achieve low-carbon project objectives and communicating the climate, economic, and social benefits of your project.
• Be designed to achieve measurable climate mitigation outcomes in terms of direct or facilitated greenhouse gas emission reductions.
• Have a minimum total financing need of US $ 500,000.
• Be (at least) at the technical pre-feasibility stage of development.
• Have a business model that will generate
• commercially attractive returns in the long-term (although some element of concessional financing may be required initially).
• We strongly encourage projects that can demonstrate positive social impacts and how they contribute to furthering gender equality and social inclusion.

The CFA is open for applications from climate projects seeking support in accessing finance until August 9″, 2024.
