Our client, Ecumenical Church Loan Fund (ECLOF Uganda), a Ugandan registered, Christian-based microfinance institution, which is also part of a global network, has a focus on supporting and strengthening human development through provision of high quality financial services to small income-generating enterprises for sustainable development of communities.
ECLOF Uganda is looking for suitably qualified individuals to apply for the position Credit Officer. The position reports to the Branch Manager and is based in Kampala and Luwero. The Credit Officer is charged with the responsibility of building and maintaining a substantial and high quality loan portfolio.

Qualifications: Knowledge and Technical Skills: The ideal candidate must have:
• A Degree in Business administration, agriculture, microfinance, commerce, sales & marketing or related course.

• Roles and Responsibilities:
• The major functions of the Credit Officer shall include the following;
• Assist in conducting market study activities.
• Prospecting for clients.
• Solicits new loan clients in accordance with specific periodic performance targets prescribed in the branch business plan;
• Conducts active marketing campaign to attract new clients.
• Orients prospective clients about ECLOF’s loan products.
• Trains clients in loan management, ECLOF policies, business management, group dynamics and record keeping.
• Receives loan applications and perform credit appraisal on loan applicants and his/her surety/ guarantor, if any;
• Assists clients in filling in accounting forms and records especially in 1st cycle.
• Prepares and presents credit applications to the branch credit committee for approval.
• Keeps track of the loans and ensures timely recovery of loan installments and interest thereon from the groups.
• Conduct regular visits to clients and build strong relations with them before, during and after the disbursement.
• Closely monitors loan payments and ensures zero tolerance against past due.
• Acts to support other loan officers in delinquency management.
• Prepare periodical reports and submits them to supervisor in time.
