PROJECT BACKGROUND:
The USAID Feed the Future Uganda Water and Food Systems (WFS) Activity is a five-year activity (2023-2028) implemented by the Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI Global ELC) as a lead partner with funding from USAID Feed the Future in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Stantec, Market Share Associates, and the International Water Management Institute. The Activity aims to inclusively and equitably improve food and water security in the Kyoga Basin in northeastern Uganda, specifically three watersheds – Lokok, Awoja, and Lokere, by empowering individuals and communities to mitigate and adapt to shocks and stressors in order to improve livelihoods, maintain nutrition and health wellbeing, address drivers of conflict, and reduce reliance on humanitarian assistance.
The activity aims therefore to achieve results under the following development objectives: 1. Improve water supply and integrated water resource management.
2. Increase equitable access to sanitation and hygiene services for households and schools.
3. Improved agriculture-based livelihoods.
4. Increased consumption of nutritious foods among women and children.
5. Expanded access to financial resources for women, men, youth, indigenous people, and marginalized groups.
6. Improve local capacity to manage shocks and stressors.

The Grants Officer is a member of the contracts and grants management team and is responsible for effectively managing and administering a sizable and complex array of grants. The Grants Officer administers the grantee selection process in full compliance with USAID and DAI rules and regulations, leads in the provision of technical and administrative support in building capacity of local sublgrantees to effectively manage grants and oversees implementation of grant awards.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, or related field with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience in contracts and grants management.
• Prior experience in USAID project grants is a preferred. Professional proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in local languages is preferred.
• Candidate must have a demonstrated knowledge in internal controls
