Job Description
Sales Management
• Achieve Sales targets as defined by the company – products (Oil, Cake, Animal Feed, Soap, Feed ingredients, Coffee, Macadamia), quantity, value and profit margins.
• Implement the sales plan by working with lead staff to develop sales team action plans.
• Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with sales activities.
• Anticipate emerging issues based on changing supply and demand trends and feedback from the market and propose innovative responses to keep abreast of changes.
• Identify, validate & acquire new customers
• Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to grow sales and expand market penetration, particularly within all sales channels.
• Ensure that all reporting of sales metrics is regarded as a priority by sales staff and that accurate and current information is available to reflect business results at all times.
• Analyse the products market (Local, regional and international) changes, evolutions, threats and opportunities.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly sales projections and forecasts for all products (Oil, Cake, Animal Feed, Soap, Feed ingredients, Coffee, Macadamia) and provide daily/weekly/monthly performance reports to management as per the reporting systems.
• Liaise with finance, procurement, production and dispatch departments on sales related activities.
• Maintain rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits, explore specific needs and anticipate new opportunities.
• Ensure that the sales team provide daily/weekly/monthly sales performance reports line with the applicable reporting systems
• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly meetings with the sales team(s) discussing the previous period’s work and the following period’s planned activities.
Product Management
• Establish clear long-term product portfolio plan focused on customer/market (Local, regional and international) demands and aligned with Company production/technology strengths
• Collaborate with lead customers & internal stakeholders (production/finance/R&D) to manage product portfolio (additions/extensions/pruning) to optimize profitability
Channel Management
• Identify and develop strategic partners in key geographic areas
• Develop and deploy distributor agreement format for managing the relationship with and performance of distribution partners
• Maintain data relating to partners, accounts and activities and document key partner interactions.
Pricing/Commercial Management
• Develop and deploy long-term pricing strategy/framework for current /future products aligned to growth and profitability targets
• Ensure short term pricing maintains margin levels relative to material costs
• Manage/evolve commercial terms in-line with customer & business needs
Technical Support
• Collaborate with key customer and internal stakeholders on new product development & deployment
• Collaborate with key customer and internal stakeholders on any customer complaints
• Leverage customer relationships / understanding to enhance market knowledge and build competitive advantages in our product and service offering
Employee management
• Manage, develop, coach, control, motivate and supervise the performance of the sales team, enhance their skills and competence to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and monthly sales targets are met.
• Ensure there is a mechanism in place to monitor individual performance, assess progress and provide feedback to support individual development in order to deliver quality performance outcomes across the sales department.
• Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team and manage the sales program accordingly, including undertaking recruitment and coordinating training as required to expand the sales program.
• Review the teams KPl’s and issue relevant action plans in case of deviations.
Administration
• Provide daily monitoring of all activity and measurements, identifying and addressing negative variances
• Maintain detailed records of all sales data as well as interventions on underperforming agents/customers and sales reps.
• Provide daily reports to line management, in the prescribed format and at the prescribed times.
• Identify, analyse and report on new industry trends in the Local, regional and international markets

Education
• BA/IBA/MBA – Marketing/International Business
Experience
• 5-7 years experience in a similar industry; FMCG
