De Heus Animal Nutrition is a Dutch family business that has grown into a major global player. It produces animal feed for a wide variety of livestock, has over 80 production locations and serves more than 75 countries.
In Uganda, De Heus is best known for its brand Koudijs. To extend its business in East Africa, De Heus will start local production of fish feed in Uganda under the De Heus brand. By joining, you would help kickstart aquaculture and participate in the creation many jobs in fish farms and among our suppliers (farmers of soy, maize, and other agricultural raw materials), improve food security, and substitute import with export.
What is your role?
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for inventory in the warehouse, oversees and coordinates the daily warehousing activities. This role reports to the Warehouse Lead and works closely with the rest of the team.
Your key responsibilities are to:
• Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods
• Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees’ (loaders) performance
• Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
• Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy
• Coordinate timely resolution of challenges related to loading, truck turnaround time and dispatch.
• Performs daily inventory stock take and reconciliations.
• Employee FIFO methods of the goods
• Coordinate with Sales, Production and Dispatch on customer orders, lead-time and delivery
• Determine staffing (loaders) levels and assign workload
• Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status
• Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices
• Confer and coordinate activities with other departments
• Any other task assigned by the supervisor.
What do we expect from you?
• Bachelor of Degree of Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or related field.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar field.
• Knowledge of Warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency and the ability to input, retrieve and analyse large volumes of data.
• Hands-on commitment to getting the job done.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
