Job Overview
Job Purpose:
Facilitate the planning, cost effecting sourcing of inputs, dispatch and delivery of finished products to different customer segments. Key outcome of the role is the effective and cost-efficient operations for the specified role in the value stream.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Core Roles
• Responsible for end to end planning of inventory from purchase requisition to customer invoice
• Develop production and inventory management plans to support sales and promotions
• Facilitate meetings with sales teams to valid forecasts over and above core business sales
• Conduct root cause analysis when necessary
• Identify current and potential product shortages, develop and execute recovery, advise stakeholders of status and recovery plans
• Constant interactions with sales and assessment demand requirements. Reflect changes in SKU level forecast
• Achieve consensus on operating plans, inventory goals and dispatch plans
• Develop system and procedure required to meet service and inventory turn objectives
• Maintenance and daily management of the MRP-SAP B1
• Develop master production schedule for specified products and production lines underlining all physical and crewing constraints on the lined planned
• Monitor factory performance, challenging and understanding where performance is different from what was expected
• Monitor stock cover daily, avoiding stock outs and over stocks where possible, raising these with the right stakeholders to address the same
• Monitor the daily availability of materials (packing and raw), challenging as necessary when materials are not available required
• Capacity balancing of products across lines if balance cannot be achieved with the constraints of production/crewing, raise this at the scale and operations planning meeting
• Ensure run rates, inventory targets, batch quantities, changeover times and other data key to planning accuracy are regularly reviewed and maintained correctly in appropriate systems
• Understand forecast for specified products, monitor accuracy and challenge where necessary
• Ensure all plans are feasible in terms of material supply, notify all stakeholders of potential shortfalls
• Liaise with the commercial term on day to day dispatch scheduling / stock issues
• Coordinate product launches effectively to eliminate unnecessary downtime and packaging/material waste
• Ensure complete and comprehensive master production scheduling is generated at the required intervals
• Ensure required reports and KPIs are generated at the necessary frequency, monitored and utilized correctly to ensure improvement actions are generated and completed
• Manage the monitoring of finished goods and highlight any potential write off in line with the department procedures for planning/commercial decision to be made to minimize impact
• Take an active part in the continuous improvement of all operations
• Perform other duties as assigned
Performance Measures and Targets:
Key Skills:
• Minimum 5 years in Supply Chain role or similar environment.
• Substantial previous experience in a complex environment, working with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
• Having strong communication skills to manage the internal and external stakeholder expectations
• Strong leadership talent, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to make Decisions under pressure
• Good commercial and business understanding
• Analytical approach and problem diagnostic skills.
• Computer literate – preferably SAP Business 1 (ERP) and application packages.
Qualifications
• Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a warehousing, logistics, supply chain or similar environment.
