We are looking for a suitable candidate to take on the role of Social Behavioral Change (SBC) Officer – Bergstrom Project. The SBC Officer will be responsible for;
• Overseeing the implementation of the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services quality standards within the PSIU franchise, partner, public health facilities and community to ensure compliance with the PSI Quality assurance Plan.
• Planning, supervising and implementing all Social Behavior Change and Communications (SBCC) efforts to improve SRH services uptake.
• Building and maintaining partnerships with the district local government, implementing partners, community-based organizations to support the implementation of program objectives and donor requirements.
Your contribution
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans and budgets for the execution of all project activities in the implementation districts.
• Lead the implementation of the demand creation /social behavioural change strategy to drive demand for SRH and FP services including permanent methods in the project area. This shall include supportive supervision and capacity building for the peer mobilizers, IPCAs, home visits for booked clients, and monitoring the effectiveness of the different referral channels.
• Oversee the timely and successful execution of FP events in the districts to achieve the projected results including appropriate set-up, branding & messaging, availability of service providers, commodities, and reporting mechanisms.
• Coordinate regular coaching/support supervision/mentorship visits to service providers in the region to ensure quality and client safety during SRH service provision.
• Continuously monitor adherence to approved standard operational procedures and protocols, and data quality procedures and protocols by SRH service delivery points and providers.
• Monitor complications and adverse events resulting from PSIU supported SRH service delivery; and facilitate their timely management and reporting.
• Manage the supply chain including ordering, distribution and tracking of commodities, promotional products, and IEC materials to service delivery points in the district.
• Establish and maintain strategic relations with PSI’s implementing partners at district level such as the district health management team, and relevant local partner organizations to support the implementation of activities.
• Prepare and submit periodic activity progress reports (e.g. donor, district, and internal review reports), learnings, and best practices on all SRH interventions and contribute to the documentation of evidence that will add to the knowledge base on SRH and FP service delivery.
• Implement risk management activities to mitigate operational and financial risks in the region.
What are we looking for?
• Diploma in Medical or Health Sciences (e.g. clinical medicine, nursing/midwifery).
• Degree in Social Sciences/Humanities will be an added advantage
• At least 3 years of experience with demonstrated ability to work with rural and urban communities, youth and various partners including MoH, Local governments, CBOs and other NGOs.
• Experience coordinating private and public health providers to deliver FP/SRH services.
• Experience working with demand creation/SBC programs.
• Previous experience in Quality Improvement approaches.
