Main Purpose:
Provide assurance to Technology over performance of IP/MPLS network through proactive audits, design review, re-engineering controls and process for a reliable and resilient IP/MPLS network.
Context
• A multi-vendor network with key functions of Operations, Maintenance, Network capacity management and Network Rollout/implementation are largely outsourced.
• Cross functional collaboration with Technology Planning, Bayobab and Managed service vendor in delivering Excellence to the Customers
Main Job Functions:
• Review IP/MPLS Project LLDs/HLDs for possible design flows that may lead to capacity degradation or poor user experience.
• Participate actively in troubleshooting and correcting service impacting incidents in IP/MPLS network.
• Ensure configurations in IP/MPLS network are up to date.
• Design and participle in IP/IMPLS DRPs and ensure observations are corrected and well documented by MS Vendor.
• Supervise all planned network expansions, service migrations, modernization, and optimization activities in the IP/MPLS network.
• Conduct periodic tests to ensure configurations are as per design.
• Develop and enhance analytic competence and use of analytic tools for efficiency.
• Collaborate with MS vendor to deep dive into NPS detractors and optimise the network to achieve improvements.
Managerial / Supervisory Responsibilities
• Risk assessment and mitigation in IP/MPLS network
• Guide and lead through persuasion to MTNU Management in determining quality and measurement possibilities going forward.
• Participate in continuous personal and department performance improvement activities.
• Manage the complexities of the interaction between the multitude of technologies and services.
• Ensure relevant skills development and training are available to all.

Education
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
• IP Certification in Cisco, Juniper or extreme

Work Experience
• A minimum of 7 years work experience
• More than 4 years’ experience in IP management
• Experience developing and maintaining of IP networks.
