JOB PURPOSE:
1. Implementation of the B2C strategy as guided by Management
2. Responsible for every aspect of the day-to-day supervision of the retail network, including sales, staff, stock, resources management and footprint development. Also ensure the implementation and respect of HSSEQ norms and regulations in all stations.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A- PROGRAMMING
• Actual presence in the field: support for the sales force’s action by virtue of the example set
• Application of and follow-up on the service quality policy
• Application and follow-up on promotional actions
• Regular sales force meetings, for analyzing and commenting on the results
• Application of the station staff training policy
B- COORDINATION
• Information collection for annual establishment of objectives and of the budget
• Determination of the objectives for each station (for the year, for the month)
• Regular reviews of the contractual fees to be paid for each station
• Establishment of monthly activity report concerning retail sales
• Competition analysis (liter volumes, strength/weaknesses, fuel projects and diversification)
• Establishment of files concerning creation and modernization of sales outlets
• Monitoring administrative matters: building permit applications, various authorizations… Collection and checking of reports concerning the weekly rounds made by the retail commercial inspectors
C- SUPERVISION
• Physical condition of the network
• Quality of the image of the visual standards and of the service
• Observance of operating and safety rules
• Signature and recording of management contracts
• Rental payment schedule and its updates
• Organize marketing meeting on sales objectives
• Report on customer’s balance and the financial risk. Signature by the managers of their statements of accounts
• Changes in financial situation, particularly the situation of risk
• Regular supply for the network (AGO, PMS, LPG AND LUBES)
• Any other work-related duties assigned by Managing Director
Context, Environment & Challenges:
• The Retail Manager pays regular visits to the entire network, so should have a driving license. He must also have access to all tools and procedures involved in network management.
Principal Accountabilities:
The Retail Manager is responsible for:
• Applying the Group retail sales policy relating to safety, quality, management monitoring, document management, and staff selection, training, and programming.
• Ensuring all Dealers have a live contract with the Company
• Strict adherence to the Credit Policy by all Network Dealers as per MLA. No credit supplies without the prior approval of the Manager Director
• Liaising effectively with the Operations Manager to ensuring that HSSEQ runs supreme in the operation of the Stations.
• Effectively controlling the Network Dealers to avoid any situation of product stock-outs at the stations, except in cases of force majeure.
• Liaising effectively with Human Resources Manager to ensure adequate staffing, staff incentives and staff reprimand
• Growth of the BtC portfolio. Makes proposals to Management on possible locations for NTI (New to industry)/NTOs (New to organization) and the realization of those opportunities.
• Creation and increase of Non-Fuel Revenues (NFR) at the retail sites
• Initiate the procurement process for all station OPEX requirements such as uniforms, DSSR’s, etc
• Planning and managing sales related, revenue generating initiatives either BTL (Below the line) or ATL (Above the line)
• Fleet card day-to-day management, customer enrolment, customer service and issue resolution to guarantee customer loyalty. Ensure compliance with stipulated policies i.e., KYC, credit management, and any other
• Implementation of Operations Excellence metrics as per company’s’ ambitions. Development and management of schemes that motivate the station teams to drive achievement of Excellent Customer Service and satisfaction
• Training Network Dealers, Station Heads, and Forecourt staff on best practices and policies.
• Brand Harmonization and control: To ensure that all products and services are consistent with and support brand personality and to identify potential inconsistencies and initiate appropriate action.
• Contribute to establishment and implementation of a trading terms and conditions policy, which is fair to all partners and appropriately rewards performance, in order that investment is directed at enhancing sales volume in line with company objectives.
• Responsible for building and maintaining good relationship with key channel partners by conducting regular field visits and meetings to discuss key issues and resolve any business challenges
Other responsibilities:

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration or Economics from a recognized University. A post graduate qualification a plus.
• 10 years’ work experience, of which 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Must be prepared to work beyond normal working hours.
• Must exhibit high integrity and honesty in the performance of his/her function
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and transporters and internal stakeholders
