The LWF Uganda Program is looking for a qualified and experienced person to fill the following position:

Reports To: Project Officer
Starting date: ASAP
Duration of Contract: 1 year contract (with possibility for extension)

Job Summary: Under the guidance of the Project officer, the Project Assistant is responsible for implementation of protection activities, case management and support, identification of beneficiaries and compiling weekly reports.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Project Implementation
• Carry out mobilization and sensitization of communities, farmers and other beneficiaries with the help of community structure and incentive worker to participate in project activities
• Participate in selection of youth for support in vocational skills training and guide them to select appropriate course that are marketable within their communities.
• Collaborate with project officer, liaise, consult and working in partnership and cooperation with relevant sub-county, District Departments and institution in order to achieve sector objectives and facilitate project implementation.
• Participate in selection and training of youth for talent search development.
Project Planning
• Work with project officer in Planning, identification of project beneficiaries, and build their capacity and support them in establishing income generating activities.
• Supporting the identification, formation and training of groups in group dynamics, enterprise selection and management, business planning & VSLA
Staff Management
• Supervise, monitor and give guidance to community Based Facilitators and ensure their adherence to the project objectives and observation of LWF code of conduct and core values.
Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
• Preparing weekly, monthly reports /work plans and submit to Project Officer and maintaining accurate and complete records.
• Regular visit the project sites/ supported beneficiary households to check on the progress of the support given and document the impact lessons learnt and any other best practices.

Other
• Perform any other official duties that may, from time to time, be requested and /or assigned by the project officer.
Education, Qualifications & Experience Required
• University Degree in Agriculture, Social Science, Entrepreneurship or other relevant field of study with over 2 years’ experience in the same field.
• Special Skills, Aptitude or Personality Requirements
• Problem Solving and Decision-Making skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent English Language (both written and spoken)
• Knowledge on computer skills like MS word, excel.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Good team worker with good communication skills
