ABOUT FEED THE FUTURE UGANDA INCLUSIVE AGRICULTURAL MARKETS ACTIVITY (FTFIAM)
The USAID/Uganda Feed the Future Uganda inclusive Agricultural Markets Activity (FFIAM) is a six-year USAID-funded Activity, FIF IAM works with agro-industry/agribusiness firms, Government of Uganda (GOU) institutions and agencies, and market actor organizations to improve efficiencies in cross-market functions such as input supply and agribusiness services, value addition and business support services to increase incomes and improve livelihoods through agriculture-led inclusive economic growth.

FIFAM takes a market systems development approach and works through market actors to build capacity and enable them to respond to opportunities within the agricultural sector. The approach empowers local actors, especially the private sector, government and producer groups, among others, to align incentives for improved market performance. FIF IAM places women, youth and other marginalized groups at the core of its strategies and focuses on creating efficiencies in cross-market functions that influence systemic changes in order to have sustainable impact on the agricultural sector and the country.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The broad objective is to provide technical backstopping to coffee agribusinesses to put in place systems and procedures that streamline their business activities with the aim of attaining certification.

The specific objectives include:
To facilitate the certification process for eight coffee processors and exporters by identifying and addressing capacity gaps in key certification requirements
To deliver tailored technical assistance to a minimum of four selected coffee processors, addressing identified gaps to achieve certification, focused on aspects such as good working conditions, sustainable supply chains and environmentally friendly practices.
To build capacity and mentor staff of the 4 selected coffee processors to train smallholder farmers (including youth and women) on sustainable coffee farming practices.
