Job Summary
The Paediatric, Adolescent and PMTCT technical officer monitors the implementation of systems, policies and procedures for aligning the various project objectives in terms Paediatric, Adolescent and Maternal health services from the Ministry of Health and all District health facilities in Eastern region to effectively respond to the scaling up of HIV/AIDS, TB epidemic control, prevention and treatment in the region in line with the Organization’s mission and UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals.

Overall Responsibilities
1. Monitor the implementation of integrated district and cluster prevention (Pediatric/Adolescent/PMTCT) work plan to meet the desired standards, objectives and targets for prevention, including gender integration.
2. Strengthen collaborative partnerships with district focal persons and relevant community stakeholders, identify a Ped/Adol/PMTCT specific workforce, to ensure effective and efficient service delivery, Pediatric/Adolescent/PMTCT along the 95-95-95 for children and young people.
3. Maintain a motivated HRH (mentor mothers, YAPs, G-ANC mentors, LRAs, Ped CORPs, CMO, CMA, caregiver mentors) through regular supervision, technical assistance, and prompt performance feedback including appraisal and improvement plans as applicable.
4. In collaboration with the technical officers, develop and implement the cluster, data driven, capacity building plans (training, mentorship, learning and adaptation) for Pediatric/Adolescent/PMTCT programs for Accelerating Progress in Pediatrics and PMTCT/ functionality of HC IIs, and monitor its implementation based on clearly identified needs.
5. Collaborate with cluster supply chain technical officers to ensure adequate commodities for Pediatric/Adolescent/PMTCT across the entire region.
6. Participate in development, and dissemination of context specific technical updates, program priorities, performance reviews and best practices for to Pediatric/Adolescent/PMTCT relevant stakeholders in regular written and oral reports and presentations.
7. Implement quality improvement initiatives in the delivery of differentiated services for prevention, with consideration of clients changing preferences and choices, dynamic systems and processes, robust data collection and use, in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• The applicant to hold a qualification in Nursing or Clinical medicine, from a recognized institution, and must be registered with the relevant professional body.

Qualification in Public Health is an added advantage.
At least three years of related work experience in technical assistance support to districts and Health system strengthening (HSS).
