PROJECT BACKGROUND:
The USAID Feed the Future Uganda Water and Food Systems(WFS) Activity s a five-year activity (2023-2028) implemented by the Development Iternatives Incorporated (DAI Global LLC) as a lead partner with unding from USAID Feed the Future in partnership with Catholic Relief ervices, Stantec, Market Share Associates, and the International Water anagement Institute. The Activity aims to inclusively and equitably improve food and water security in the Kyoga Basin in Northeastern Uganda, specifically three watersheds – Lokok, Awoja, and Lokere, by empowering individuals and communities to mitigate and adapt to shocks and stressors in order to improve livelihoods, maintain nutrition and health wellbeing, address drivers of conflict, and reduce reliance on humanitarian assistance.
The activity aims therefore to achieve results under the following development objectives:
• Improve water supply and integrated water resource management.
• Increase equitable access to sanitation and hygiene services for households and schools.
• Improved agriculture-based livelihoods.
• Increased consumption of nutritious foods among women and children.
• Expanded access to financial resources for women, men, youth, indigenous people, and marginalized groups.
• Improve local capacity to manage shocks and stressors.

The Nutrition and Agricultural Linkages Senior Specialist will provide technical oversight for WFSA’s achievement of performance targets under Intermediate Result 4 (IR4), dealing with increased consumption of nutritious foods among women and children. S/He will play a pivotal role in ensuring that nutrition-sensitive agricultural practices are integrated into project activities. The Nutrition and Agricultural Linkages Specialist will work closely with nutrition focal persons, VHTs, local farmers, district local government authorities, NGOs/CBOs/FBOs, and other relevant stakeholders to promote nutrition-sensitive agricultural practices.
Job requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, agriculture, agronomy, or related field. Advanced degree preferred. 9+ years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience on nutrition-sensitive practices, agriculture, food security, or integrated development programs, Experience with USAID or donor-funded nutrition programs.
• Professional proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in local languages is preferred .
