Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer. The MEAL Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring effective project implementation, continuous improvement, and accountability in our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring and evaluation methodologies, data analysis, and a commitment to promoting learning and accountability within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Design and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks for projects, ensuring data collection methods are aligned with project goals.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, assess progress, and provide feedback to project teams.
• Develop and manage data collection tools, ensuring they capture relevant indicators for measuring project outcomes and impacts.
Data Management and Analysis:
• Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of project data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Utilize statistical and qualitative analysis techniques to interpret project data and generate actionable insights.
• Prepare and present regular reports to project teams and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Accountability and Learning:
• Implement accountability mechanisms to gather feedback from project beneficiaries and stakeholders.
• Facilitate learning sessions and workshops to promote a culture of continuous learning within the organization.
• Work closely with project teams to identify lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
Capacity Building:
• Provide training and support to project staff and partners on MEAL methodologies and best practices.
• Build the capacity of field staff in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Collaboration and Coordination:
• Collaborate with project managers, coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure effective integration of MEAL activities into project cycles.
• Participate in relevant coordination meetings and represent the organization in MEAL-related forums.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, development studies, statistics).
• Proven experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for development projects.
• Strong data analysis skills, proficiency in statistical software, and the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Familiarity with international development standards and frameworks.
