Wizarts Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to Communication for Development and Behavioural Change. We firmly believe that information is a powerful tool for influencing people’s attitudes and improving their behaviours. Through our programming, we strive to catalyse positive social change within communities.
One of Wizarts Foundation’s ongoing projects is “Listen to Uganda,” a collaboration with the Office of the Auditor General (OAG). This project’s primary objective is to raise awareness about the Citizen Feedback Approach (CFP) and, in turn, enhance the effectiveness of service delivery, promote transparency, and combat corruption.
Position: Language Producer Consultant-Central and Western Uganda.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Language Producer Consultant to join our team on a 6-month consultancy basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research, translate, write, and narrate scripts in local languages. (Luganda/Runyankole)
• Ensure timely editing of programs for broadcast or distribution.
• Uphold the highest standards of production quality.
• Actively participate in editorial meetings and contribute innovative solutions to editorial challenges.
• Manage relationships with a range of stakeholders to support our organization’s objectives.
• Engage with our audience across various online and offline platforms.
• Oversee the production process of content in local languages.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with a preference for Mass Communication or related disciplines.
• At least two years of relevant experience in content production and language localization.
• Proficiency in English and in one of these local languages; Luganda or Runyankole, proficiency in both local languages will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated evidence of strong writing skills in the local language.
• Knowledge of audio editing skills is preferable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
