Job Overview


PROJECT BACKGROUND:
The USAID Feed the Future Uganda Water and Food Systems(WFS) Activity s a five-year activity (2023-2028) implemented by the Development Iternatives Incorporated (DAI Global LLC) as a lead partner with unding from USAID Feed the Future in partnership with Catholic Relief ervices, Stantec, Market Share Associates, and the International Water anagement Institute. The Activity aims to inclusively and equitably improve food and water security in the Kyoga Basin in Northeastern Uganda, specifically three watersheds – Lokok, Awoja, and Lokere, by empowering individuals and communities to mitigate and adapt to shocks and stressors in order to improve livelihoods, maintain nutrition and health wellbeing, address drivers of conflict, and reduce reliance on humanitarian assistance.
The activity aims therefore to achieve results under the following development objectives:
• Improve water supply and integrated water resource management.
• Increase equitable access to sanitation and hygiene services for households and schools.
• Improved agriculture-based livelihoods.
• Increased consumption of nutritious foods among women and children.
• Expanded access to financial resources for women, men, youth, indigenous people, and marginalized groups.
• Improve local capacity to manage shocks and stressors.

This position will lead knowledge management and communication efforts for the WFSA project. This role involves collaborating with the WFSA team to synthesize project results, enhance outreach, and promote knowledgedriven programming. The specialist will share knowledge products through various channels, engage partners and communities of practice with innovative communication strategies, and enhance project visibility Additionally, the KMC Specialist will document and disseminate project achievements and lessons to support ongoing learning and improvement. This position is based in Moroto, Uganda, with travel as needed to report on project activities.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications or a relevant field; Advanced degree preferred; At least 9 years of experience in knowledge management, communications, including writing success stories, social media, report writing, and producing visual presentations, experience in multi-media communications approaches including conducting interviews and writing success stories, photography and videography, social media that showcase project milestones, Experience in creating and implementing knowledge sharing platforms, demonstrated knowledge of USAID Branding,
• Professional proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in local languages is preferred.
