The Agribusiness Development Centre (ADC) was formed in 2017 by its two founding members: Rabo Foundation and dfcu Limited with the aim of promoting Self Sufficiency in target customer segments towards Agricultural Transformation in Uganda.

This is being done through offering its chosen market segment (Farmer Based Organizations (FBO), Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs) capacity building, business accelerator opportunities and facilitating relevant linkages through innovations and collaborations to grow, build and promote a prospect of a sustainable future.

ADC is scaling multiple programs including the Business Accelerator Program, Price Risk Management Program, Hi-Innovator Program, and the Agricultural Exchange Program dubbed ‘dfcu katale’ (which is a marketplace application that ADC is scaling as part of its Last Mile Delivery and agency retail model, aspiring to grow both demand and supply linkages within the identified agricultural value chains).

This anchor program is driving the ADC cross-programing aimed at resulting in building synergies among its programs while extending more value to its core stakeholders and the Agricultural Value Chain players that ADC exists to serve.

Position Summary
ADC is undertaking the last mile delivery of the agricultural Exchange dubbed ‘dfcu Katale’, involving pre-onboarding engagements, onboarding, training, and digital support and other follow up.

This Innovation in addition to the Interactive Voice Response, SOMA E-learning Platform,
Messaging Platform, ADC bean-book (PRM Tool), Call Centre Channels and other
Innovations that ADC utilizes to serve its clients, require consistent and hands-on support for both onboarding and adoption.

ADC is thus seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Innovation Support Officer for innovation tool user pipelining, onboarding, activation, monitoring and training for adoption as well as field and remote support to users of these innovations. The key focus of the role shall be the dfcu Katale, the ADC Interactive Voice Response, The ADC alternative learning channels including the E-learning platform, Messaging platform, GPS Polygon Mapping, Call Center support among others.

Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Manager Innovations
The Innovations Support Officer has the following duties and responsibilities:
Pre-Onboarding
Liaise with other ADC staff and stakeholders to collate and maintain a pipeline of smallholder farmer producer organizations, Entrepreneurs, agribusinesses, Farmer-Based Organizations that can be onboarded on the different innovation platforms.
1. Driving MOU signing with Partners and Stakeholders that can support the pipelining of users to the different innovation platforms.
2. Tracking pipeline performance and flagging in potential failures to meet the KPIs and the potential mitigants.
3. Support in pipelining of the Aggregators, buyers and Input providers.

Onboarding
1. Undertake different onboarding initiatives and drives.
2. Collect raw data for onboarding and ensure right formats are maintained for bulk uploading.
3. Undertake quality assurance before and after bulk uploading.
4. Support the onboarding of Aggregators, buyers and Input providers and tag them to the relevant FPOs.
5. Training and sensitizing teams on the relevant technical onboarding steps.
6. Coordinate call centre engagement and messaging for onboarded confirmations.

Activation
1. Support in training of the Agents on how to best find their way around the system.
2. Support in training Data Entrants and resources supporting bulk uploading.
3. Work through Agents and Super Agents to drive active utility of the platform.
4. Support Aggregators, buyers and Input providers update their information on the platform.
5. Track harvest projections, and other transactions on the platform.
6. Coordinate activation drives undertaken by contracted parties for the different innovations.
7. Identify risks and put in place measures to mitigate these risks and or minimize their impact.

Basic user support
1. Undertake Basic user support before escalating to the IT lead or Innovation Lead.
2. Track user issues and report accordingly.

Resource Mobilization
1. Support the resource mobilization efforts through scaling of the existing programs and projects.
2. Participating in writing of proposals. Expressions of Interest or concepts notes.
3. Participate in efforts to commercialize innovations which are due for same.

ADC Promotion
1. Promotes the vision, mission, and values of ADC.
2. Create awareness of the alternative learning channel, Projects & Programs as well as the scaling of ADC services.

Other duties of the Innovations Support Officer shall include the performance of all the duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager Innovations or the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Finance, Business Administration, Development Studies or a related field.
• Experience with Last Mile retailing or App Scaling in a Fintech or AgriTech environment

Experience
A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in Agribusiness Training, user Support, last Mile retaining drives.

Skills
1) Must possess outstanding communication and listening skills.
2) Aptly Digitally Literate
3) Organizational skills to ensure the success of assigned tasks.
4) Attention to detail to avoid slipping through the cracks which can derail progress, cost, and time.
