Job Purpose
The Clinical Supervisor will ensure effective linkages across the continuum of HIV services for key populations (KP) affected by HIV. The role includes conducting activities aimed at reducing HIV transmission, improving enrolment, retention in care, and ensuring proper treatment across the HIV continuum of response for KP.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and oversee the supervision of DIC staff, ensuring that expected deliverables are achieved.
• Conduct periodic performance appraisals of DIC staff in collaboration with managers or technical officers.
• Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and resources at the DIC.
• Ensure efficient utilization and proper accountability for resources provided to the DIC.
• Attend HIV prevention-related meetings organized by the activity or collaborating partners.
• Work with community structures to identify key populations, map their locations, assess their HIV risk, and provide a comprehensive prevention and care package.
• Collaborate with the HIV Prevention Specialist, Community Engagement Officer, Prevention Officer, District HIV Prevention Focal Person, and Facility in-charge to develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly work plans for KP/PP activities.
• Support the updating of the KP tracker, PrEP, and relevant HIV prevention registers at the DIC and attached sites.
• Implement quality improvement projects to inform learning and best practices in HIV prevention services for equity populations.
• Scale up innovative approaches and tools to improve the quality of HIV prevention services while remaining cost-effective.
• Participate in weekly program, cluster, and quarterly performance review meetings.
• Organize ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) for DIC staff.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• Education: Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health or equivalent.
• Registration: Active registration with the Allied Health Professionals’ Council.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in clinic or hospital-based services.
• Additional Skills: Experience in HIV/AIDS and ART management is an advantage.
• Other Requirements: Willingness to work and live in rural areas.
