Job Overview
TRAC FM International, headquartered in Kampala, is looking for an experienced, structured and ambitious Chief of Operations. Someone who can combine operational rigour with empathetic team building skills.
Someone who knows how to write a compelling proposal and has a knack for building strategic partnerships. Someone with an interest in the use of technology for the social development of rural communities and ambition to grow an established media innovation beyond borders.
Role Description
For over 12 years, TRAC FM has been at the forefront of innovation in FM radio across Africa. TRAC FM is
NOT a radio station. Instead, we develop cutting-edge tools and multimedia formats that empower partner radio stations to engage more effectively with their audiences. As a pioneer in this space, TRAC
FM developed a software platform that facilitates large-scale listener feedback through opinion poll questions, broadcasted on radio. Tens of thousands of listeners chip in their views daily on a wide variety of topics. Our unique approach has been instrumental in driving various campaigns focused on social issues, such as teenage pregnancy, human rights, and public service delivery. Additionally, we have supported efforts to track the spread of agricultural pests like the fall armyworm and collaborated on academic research investigating the high incidence of stillbirths.
Over the next three years, we aim to scale up our operations, and we recognize the need for an experienced leader to help us streamline our processes to achieve this goal. We are looking for someone who is not only a hands-on, hardworking motivator but also a strategic thinker and planner who can leverage our innovative approach, extensive experience, and dedicated team to drive sustainable growth. In this role, you will work closely with our CEO to develop and implement a strategy that aligns with our vision. You will collaborate with a core team focused on day-to-day operations, ensuring that TRAC FM identifies and seizes the right opportunities, stays within budget, adheres to standards and regulations, and fosters a positive work environment where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential. Your expertise in business development will be crucial in guiding TRAC FM toward continued success and growth.
By doing so, you will enable millions of people, who are often not heard when important decisions are made, to become part of a conversation about their future and build an informed and responsible society.
