Maracha District was created in FY 2009/10 and started effective operations on 1st July, FY 2010/11. Maracha District is found in the North Western region lying between Arua and Koboko Districts. Its District headquarters and Commercial Town is in Maracha Town Council 24 miles north of Arua Town along the main road to South Sudan. Maracha District is bordered by Koboko District in the North, Yumbe District in the North East, Democratic Republic of Congo in the West and by Arua District in the South and South east. Maracha comprises two counties namely: Maracha County and Maracha East County. There are 14 rural sub counties and 5 town council, 91 parishes and 691 villages.

The district, with a total area of 441 sq km is home to 186,176 (2014 census) people who are spread within the one county.

Job application procedure
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the vacant post that exist in Maracha District Local Government as listed below,
Applications should be submitted in triplicate on PSC Form 3 (Revised 2008) and ESC Form 3 (Revised 1998) NOT later than Four weeks (DECEMBER 13, 2023) to the SECRETARY DISTRICT SERVICE COMMISSION PO BOX 1, MARACHA.
Application forms are obtained from Public Service Commission and Education Service Commission website, Secretaries District Service Commission Country Wide & All Photocopying points within Maracha and must be filled in the applicants own handwriting with three (3) current passport size photographs attached.
Applications should bear the Title and Reference Number of the post applied for.
Photocopy of National Identity cards, summary forms, certified photocopies of Academic Certificates, Transcripts, Teachers must attach registration certificate, Health workers must attach valid practicing license and Drivers must attach valid driving permit
