Job Overview

This role will ensure youth under the YIDAMS project, are supported to exploit different opportunities that can enable them develop business enterprises along the dairy value chain while ensuring that they transit into dignified employment.
The Project Officer will provide oversight role at the district level. He/she will be facilitating market driven linkages between youth, input/output dealers/ MCCs, and other value chain actors by establishing business relationships and facilitating deals (both formal and informal). The Project Officer will ensure increased growth of business enterprises for the young people along the diary value chain, facilitate access to financial services and products for young people in the diary value chain, and supporting youth skilled under YiDaMS project access work opportunities. Providing mentorship and linking SMES to BDS services providers

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Leads YIDAMS increased growth of business enterprises for the young people in the dairy value chain in the assigned District.
• Organizes graduation ceremonies for youth who complete apprenticeship and those certified by DIT.
• Facilitate smooth apprenticeship and internship placements.
• Follow up and track youth under apprenticeship and link them to employment opportunities. Builds the capacity of project field staff on Enterprise development, business incubation and management
• Support the establishment, expansion and management of business hub Incubation centers
• Support establishment of new and strengthen existing milk collection centers/MCPs so as to promote milk aggregation and marketing Mentor youth to develop better business plans/ marketing plans so that
• Mobilize youth to participate in trade shows and exhibitions to enable them learn from other businesses and do networking.

Job Requirements
Education/Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, business administration, agribusiness, micro-finance, Development studies, Social Sciences, project planning and management.
• Skills is computer applications such as word, excel, outlook and PowerPoint and ability to ride a motorcycle is desired.

Experience
• Rich field and community development work experience with minimum of 1 year of community development services focusing on business/enterprises development, and financial accessibility.
