Role:
Responsible for processing duties related to import L/Cs, Export L/Cs, Local L.Cs, Guarantees, Inward and outward Bills for collection, and related tasks.

Key Result Areas:
• Attend credit management meetings as per business requirements.
• Capture accurately all Import L/C applications in Profits and SWIFT before forwarding to the Supervisor for review in line with the UCP 600 latest version.
• Prepare letters advising clients of receipt of export L/Cs, for all documents received under export letters of credit, coordinate with the courier and follow up on the delivery of the documents.
• Process, Book and issue guarantees in profits, and where applicable, SWIFT in accordance with Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees and the corresponding ICC Publication Number.
• Prepare schedules for documentary collections, book all commissions and charges.
• Prepare all types of guarantees according to client requests, follow up for appropriate authorisation and signing and ensure timely delivery to clients in compliance with the Service Level agreement.
• Prepare guarantee confirmation /Verification Letters to the different employees and follow up for authorisation.
• Prepare schedules for local letters of credit and export Letters of credit to be forwarded to Bank of Uganda and advise clients on extensions and other amendments accordingly
• Diarize all Bills sent on collection and L/C drawings on their respective maturity dates and follow up with clients accordingly to remind them of maturity dates/ with credit to organise for settlement depending on the agreed collateral.
• Collect all Bank charges and commissions on all Trade Finance products processed as per the Tariff guide and follow up with respective branches in line with the Division work plan
• Prepare accurate management reports in compliance with the Division work plan.
• Attend to all swift correspondence relating to trade Finance and originate the swift responses accordingly.
• Prepare weekly forex commitment return and any other trade finance related reports with timely and accurate submission, through the supervisor in line with the Service level agreements

Education and Professional Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or other business course

Required Experience and Competences:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or other business course
• Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in Trade Finance business
