JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary:
The Plant Operator I (Trim) is responsible for measuring, cutting, fabricating and installing plastic components, aluminum and steel structures in the vehicle interior trim according to specifications.

Salary Scale: KT8(1)
Report to: Plant Operator III
Direct Reports: Plant Operator I

Key Functions:
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements necessary for installing plastic components, aluminum and steel structures in the vehicle interior and exterior trim according to specifications.
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed, cut, shape and smooth plastic components, aluminum and steel structures according to measurements.
• Maintain a clean, uncluttered, and safe work environment observing and practicing high standards of health, safety, and environment.
• Lead, mentor, develop, coach, and train peers to help them be successful in their roles and to progress in their skills and abilities.
• Develop and implement Monthly Work Plans necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities and Performance Reports detailing all Carpentry and Woodwork aspects within the company.
• Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Academic Qualifications
Worker’s Practically Acquired Skills (Worker’s PAS) in installing plastic components, aluminum and steel structures in the vehicle interior and exterior trim.

Minimum Experience
The applicant should have served a fitter for vehicle interior and exterior trim for at least Two (2) years.

Core Competencies
• Techniques in measuring and cutting plastic components, aluminum and steel structures.
• Joinery using different types of connectors and hinges.
• Design and create pieces for decorative or finishing purposes.
• Proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW and Gas Welding, Machine Operator.
• Interpretation of Technical and Engineering Documentation
