Water Mission, a Christian engineering nonprofit, has dedicated itself to providing safe water solutions to people in developing countries, refugee camps, and disaster areas since 2001. With a mission to share God’s love through sustainable water access, Water Mission has positively impacted over 8 million lives in 60 countries. In Uganda, the organization focuses on two main regions: Luuka District and the refugee zones in northern Uganda, including the West Nile region, where they deliver critical WaSH services to vulnerable communities.

The Operations Manager for the West Nile region is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of safe water and sanitation services to 500,000 refugees in the Bidibidi, Rhino, and Imvepi settlements. Reporting directly to the Humanitarian Response Manager, the Operations Manager will lead, mentor, and manage staff to ensure adherence to Water Mission’s mission, vision, and standards. This role involves formulating strategies, ensuring excellence in operations, and fostering a culture of God-honoring excellence among the team. The role requires technical leadership with a commitment to servant leadership, aiming to transform lives through faith-driven service.

The ideal candidate for the Operations Manager role must possess a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and align with Water Mission’s core values of Love, Excellence, and Integrity. With a background in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering, and extensive experience in WASH program implementation in humanitarian settings, the candidate will bring both technical expertise and a passion for serving the most vulnerable. This full-time, fixed-term contract position is based in the refugee operation area in northern Uganda, requiring frequent travel across the West Nile region to ensure the effective delivery of WASH services.
